H/M 1993 "GUITAR HERO"
"Guitar demo '93" ottimi livelli tecnici con margini di miglioramento: "Psyco blues" "Acoustic overture" e "Tekno death" mostrano stesure compositive degne dei classici strumentali, "Magnotta op:3" è una piccola farsa di un'ilarità sconvolgente, ma rimane la serietà di Jurij autore di un demo fra i più particolari che abbia mai ascoltato, con i DESECRATION il discorso cambia infatti con la band esce fuori una caratura tecnica veramente impressionante. Pesantezza, violenza, armonia e tecnica sono i punti cardinali verso i quali si muove il loro death/progressive. Un progressive malato perchè violentato e assoggettato alle armonie corrosive che riempono questo CD. La registrazione è ottima ed ottimo anche il suono, per nulla inferiori a quelle di un qualsiasi gruppo della Nuclear Blast oltre oceano, hanno raggiunto una ricchezza compositiva coraggiosa, portandoli ad una posizione eccentrica rispetto ai cliches del death.

I DESECRATION rappresentano il lato oltranzista dell'heavy metal, fautori di un death tecnicissimo che si districa in pezzi pieni di riff ed assoli decisamente buoni, potrà piacere a chi ama gruppi come i Sepultura, Morbid Angel, ma anche a chi apprezza un dignitoso lavoro chitarristico, in tal senso un plauso va riservato a Francesco Conte ed a Jurij Ricotti, inoltre il quintetto a dimostrato di saper suonare davvero bene! In "Guitar demo '93" ci sono brani veramente particolari, bizzarri e unici. "Psycho Blues" rivela sia le doti tecniche di Jurij sia quelle melodiche. Plettrate oltre i limiti della velocità consentiti dal codice, eccellente elasticità e meticoloso studio tecnico. "Magnotta op:3" semplicemente geniale nel suo concepimento, nell'inizio e nel finalone tutto da ascoltare, lo schema ritmico è una telefonata dove Jurij scandisce con il suo operato i momenti salienti rendendo tutto claustrofobico. Ottime idee.

Italy seems to spit out really talent musicians! DESECRATION is a five piece act from Rome & they've been together since 1991 now. Their first demo came out shortly after they had formed and was called ABANDON ALL HOPE. Now they've finished the recordings for a mini-cd and it's a real killer! The whole CD has a pretty clear so you'll be able to discover every instrument very easily. The bass is very much up front and that seems to be very important for them, cause they are on the progressive side of death/thrash metal. Unfortunately the guitarists left the band after the recordings, but what you can hear of him on this little piece of music is umbelievable. Sometimes very moody with acoustical pieces and on the other hand pretty much inspired inspired by the so-called guitar heroes of Sharpnel label! So, I'll try to give you a really stupid comparison. Can you imagine how Morbid Angel would have sounded like, if "Blessed are the sick" would have been a little bit more technical and less deathy!! And if you someone like Macalpine or Vinnie Moore would've played the guitar solos instead of Trey? Oh yeah, it's really a pretty dump comparison, I see...but maybe it gives you a little clue of wath DESECRATION's all about.... Good release!

Interessantes Speedgekeile, was die italiener DESECRATION auf ihrer schon im vergangenen jahr erschienenen Mini-LP "THE VALLEY OF ETERNAL SUFFERING" fabriziert haben. Die funf songs gehen ordentlich ab, wurden mit einigen dezenten Progressiv-parts und Sound-Effekten gewurts und warten mit einer druckvollen Produktion auf. Streckenweise erinnert das Material ein wenig an Sadist, die bekanntlich auch vom stiefel kommen. Vergleiche drangen sich spatestens dann auf, wenn die leads angestimmt werden. ENGLISH Italy's DESECRATION have created some interesting speed stuff on their mini lp VALLEY OF ETERNAL SUFFERING. The five songs are really intense and some progressive parts and sound effects have been thrown in here and there and the production is quiete powerful. Sometimes their stuff reminds me on SADIST who also come from the same country, at least if you listen to the leads.

Aus Italien kommen DESECRATION, die uns auf ihrer MCD sechs Songs bieten, die allsamt sehr technisch ausgefallen sind. Meist ist das Tempo eher hoch und die Jungs erinnern an Florida - Bands, was aber mit den akkustichen Zwischenstucken und der angesprochenen Versierttheit sehr eigenstandig wirkt, sodab DESECRATION trotz des ubervollen Marktes den ein Mann bringen konnten. Der Sound ist auch ok, sodab fur mich DESECRATION iene der besten bands vom stiefel sind. Da die italiener sicherlich keinen guten vertrieb haben werden, konnt ihr's ja bei der band direkt versuchen.

Zumintest was ihren Namen angeht, hatte diese italienische Band et was mehr Einfaltsreichtum unter Beweis stallen konnen, aber vermutlich habenn sie den komplett in ihre Musik gesteckt, die im Gegensatz dasu wirklion gut ist. DESECRATION spielen technischen und doch drankvollen Death Metal, der mit vieleln ideen durczhsetst, aber nicht kramph aft originell wirkt. So wirkt es nicht gekunselt, wen sie vonbrutulen upd schnellen parts zu sehr technischen wechseln und dann gleich drauft melodisch werden. DESECRATION scheinen eine Vielsahl an musikalischen Einfluben zu besitzen, dann Anklange an andere baads oder Musikreichtungen blitzen immer wieder auf.

...La title track e' un breve spaccato acustico di rara freschezza. Chitarre crepitanti e ritmiche mozzafiato che trasmutano in continuazione ci guidano a "Premature Explant" in cui, dopo la sostanziale coesione della prima parte troviamo una azzeccata "cavalcata notturna", alternata a vari interventi, che sbocca in una evocativa parte acustica....
