Jurij Gianluca Ricotti nasce a Roma (Italia) il 16-11-1971, a 12 anni riceve per regalo un homecomputer 8 bit (ZX Spectrum 16K) dal padre (Remo). Inizia subito lo studio della programmazione dei linguaggi Basic ed Assembler riuscendo all'età di 16 anni a collaborare con la rivista "Zzap" come programmatore di programmi Hacker. A 16 anni il padre (ex chitarrista) gli regala una chitarra e lo inizia negli studi delle posizioni degli accordi. A 18 anni si diploma in "Analista Programmatore" e si iscrive all'università indirizzo Ingegneria. Si iscrive contemporaneamente anche alla "S. Louis Jazz Academy" a Roma dove si diploma nel 1997 in Composizione ed arrangiamento per orchestra, chitarra moderna e MIDI. Nel 1993 lascia la facoltà di Ingegneria per dedicarsi allo studio della chitarra classica ed elettrica, e propone il suo primo demo-tape alle riviste specializzate del periodo.Nel 1992 entra nel gruppo Death Metal DESECRATION con i quali esce "The valley of eternal suffering" (ZL6 DSm1 93). Nel 1994 lascia la band per adempiere al servizio militare spostando gli studi verso il Jazz e la musica etnica applicata alla chitarra Sinth. Collabora con diversi artisti della musica Italiana come turnista. Nel 1995 si reca a Boston per studiare Jazz , MIDI e Hard Disk Recording al "Berklee College of Music" frequentando seminari di Pat Metheny, Scott Henderson, Mike Stern. Tornato in Italia inizia poi ad insegnare presso scuole private sia chitarra che Midi ed a collaborare con la rivista "AXE" come trascrittore e collaboratore e con la rivista "PSYCHO". Ha collaborato come assistente inoltre con Nguyen Le, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Bireli Lagrene, Richard Galliano, John McLauglin, David Silvian. Dal 1999 scrive inoltre la rubrica "It's electric" su Metal Shock e sulla rivista Macintosh Magazine. Sempre nel 1999 Insegnate presso il Saint Louis Music Center dove tiene seminari di Chitarra Rock e HD Recording a Roma, scrive inoltre sulla rivista PLUG-IN e diventa endorser e dimostratore dei prodotti distribuiti da MIDIWARE srl di Roma per i quali ha dimostrato HD recording su CUBASE VST 24 presso il DISMA di Rimini sempre nel 1999. Dimostratore del software AmpFarm per la DIGISESIGN. Partecipa alla lavorazione del nuovo album di Nino Manfredi, e lavora come turnista con il produttore Claudio Zitti. Inizia la collaborazione con il produttore Internazionale Giulio Ferrarin per la produzione di materiale Dance. Nel Novembre del 1999 inizia il VST Virtual Studio Tour per la dimostrazione di Studio Integrato per HD recording. Dimostratore Steinberg Italia 2000 al Disma Music Show di Rimini. Inizia a collaborare nel 2000 con il sito macoriented TEVAC sul quale scrive tuttora. Produttore e musicista nel disco solista di Salvatore Russo (Virtuoso Records). Arrangiatore e produttore dell'artista Dance "Corona". Nel 2001 inizia a collaborare con la rivista MacWorld Italia. Sempre nello stesso anno collabora per la produzione dei dischi: Armando Manzanero "Duetos" (Warnerbros), Fernando Osorio (Emi), Ana Belen "Pieces de Ciudad" (Universal). Nel 2001 presente al Disma Music Show di Rimini come endorser Steinberg e TCWorks. Rubrica personale di HDRecording sulla rivista Axe "AxeFiles". Nuova collaborazione con la ditta i3 per la produzione di un nuovo software audio per Mac DSPQuattro. Guitar tech e collaboratore per Tony MacAlpine 2002. Collaborazioni con il sito Cubase.it. Nel 2005 prosegue la sua attività con Rondò Veneziano, scrive la colonna sonora per il nuovo film di Lamberto Bava "The Torturer" il torturatore insieme al direttore d'orchestra Paolo Vivaldi. Esce il suo primo CD solista sul progetto Lounge per la Warner Chappell in tutto il mondo. Nuovo seminario alla Hope Music School sull'arrangiamento pop. Nomina a capo redattore della nuova rivista Axe Metal in collaborazione con Axe. Alcuni brani del progetto Lounge vengono licenziati su compilation XIS Volume 4-8-9 nel mercato spagnolo nel 2006. In 1993 he deceide to left university for spend all of his time in guitar studies (classical and electric) and in this year record, on his home with a four tracks recorder, his first guitar demo for promotion his style. In 1992 play with DESECRATION, roman death band and after one year of tuor, they record "The valley of eternal suffering" (ZL6 DSm1 93) first album. In 1994 he left the band for complete Militar Service on Air Force for one year. In this period he deceide to drag his studies on jazz influence and guitar sinth applied on etnich music. He will retun into Desecration in 2000. In 1995 he goes in Boston (USA) at "Berklee college of Music" for develope his studies in jazz, MIDI and HD recording, takin study and experience with Pat Metheny, Scott Henderson, Mike Stern during their clinics. When Jurij returned in Italy start to teach music in some private schools and start his collaboration on "AXE" guitar magazine like transcriptor reviewer and other, also write on "PSYCHO" music magazine.
